Swansea Bay Tourism Awards Celebrate Excellence in 2024

Our city’s tourism industry turned out in force at the Brangwyn Hall to celebrate a year of achievement.

November 14 saw the return of the Swansea Bay Tourism Awards, held in the elegant George Hall at the Guildhall. The awards ceremony, organised by Swansea Council, Neath Port Talbot Council, Tourism Swansea Bay and the Welsh Government, recognised outstanding achievements across the tourism and hospitality sectors, celebrating businesses that elevate Swansea Bay’s appeal as a premier destination.

The awards honoured the best of the best across diverse categories, showcasing Swansea Bay’s excellence and commitment to delivering remarkable visitor experiences.

The 2024 winners are:

  • Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award: Penderyn Swansea Copperworks Distillery
  • Best Activity, Experience, or Tour: Savage Adventures
  • Best Attraction: Glynn Vivian Art Gallery
  • Best B&B, Inn and Guesthouse: Tides Reach Guest House
  • Best Caravan, Camping, and Glamping: Greenways of Gower Premier Leisure Park
  • Best Dog-Friendly Business: Clyne Farm Centre
  • Best Event: Wales Airshow
  • Best Hotel: Delta Hotels by Marriott Swansea
  • Best Place to Eat: Nomad Bar and Kitchen
  • Best Self-Catering: Clyne Farm Centre
  • Bro a Byd (Environmental Sustainability): RSPCA Llys Nini
  • Rising Star: Megan Rust, Beach House Restaurant

 

Councillor Robert Francis-Davies, Cabinet Member for Investment, Regeneration, Events & Tourism at Swansea Council, said:

“These awards celebrate the dedication and high standards upheld by local businesses, underscoring the vital role they play in making Swansea Bay a top-tier destination. It’s inspiring to see such commitment, and we’re thrilled to honour these deserving winners.

“Winners will now progress for consideration at a regional level, and we look forward to seeing who will advance to the Visit Wales National Tourism Awards in Spring 2025.”

Councillor Cen Phillips, Cabinet Member for Nature, Tourism, and Wellbeing at Neath Port Talbot Council added:

“The Swansea Bay Tourism Awards recognise excellence and innovation within our local tourism industry, which is so important to both our economy and our community. These awards not only celebrate the accomplishments of local businesses but also serve as a platform for sharing best practices and enhancing the visitor experience.”

Stephen Crocker, Chair of Tourism Swansea Bay echoed this stating:

“The passion, creativity, and sustainability commitment shown by our local operators are exceptional. We are proud to see their dedication recognised through these awards, and we look forward to returning to the formal gala-style awards in 2026.”

The Cabinet Secretary for the Economy with responsibility for Tourism, Rebecca Evans, said:
